World of Warcraft

As of writing this, I am only level 16 in World of Warcraft. I'm playing on the Season of Discovery server. Honestly, it has been very boring, and I'm not sure if I'm hooked enough on the gameplay to consider doing endgame stuff. I still want to try and reach the max level of 25, though. Once I get there, I might consider trying some of the other modes like Wrath of the Lich King or Retail, but I will likely drop it.

Persona 4 Golden

Currently, I am in the 4th dungeon in Persona 4 Golden. So far, I really like the characters, even more than the characters in Persona 5. I also really like the story and conflicts, especially about pursuing your true self. While I don't think it succeeds with this topic in every character, it offers interesting insight and is heartfelt message about figuring out who you truly are. My biggest gripe with the game so far is its gameplay. Early on, there's not much interesting going on, and it only took me until the 4th dungeon to feel like I was finally getting rewarded and actually felt more powerful. I wish there was more going on in the gameplay aspect, but overall it has very simple mechanics that can get old pretty quick. However, it is starting to get more interesting with the addition of Rise, and I hope that the mechanics continue to expand.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

I only found out about this anime because I was looking through MyAnimeList and saw that it reached the number 1 spot. This took me by surprise because in all my years of using MAL, I have never seen this happen. I think there have been some other anime that reach the number 1 spot, but then it quickly goes back down. The difference with this anime is that it has stayed in the number 1 spot for quite a while now. This caused my FOMO to spike, so I had to watch it to figure out what it was all about. I'm only on the 4th episode so far, but I cannot see why it is the number 1 spot on MyAnimeList. It has an interesting idea in the first episode, promising to explore the concept of immortality and that really means for someone, but the rest of the episodes are simple slice of life with not much depth going for them. There's nothing inherently bad about these episodes, and they're often quite nice. I just don't see anything that puts it above the rest, deserving it to receive such high scores.
